Solo Exhibition - NRCG May 2019
As an artist, my first solo exhibition in 2019 marked a significant milestone in my career. The exhibition showcased my minimalistic design sensibility, primarily influenced by a career in the Fashion Industry and focused on capturing the organic forms found in nature. I was intrigued by the microscopic aspects of design in nature and wanted to bring these elements to the forefront of my work.
In my exploration, I juxtaposed these organic forms with materials produced for human use. By using stark contrasts of blacks and whites, I emphasized the juxtaposition between nature and manufactured materials. This approach allowed me to highlight the intricate yet boldly assembled details found in the natural world through simplicity.
My intention for this work was to encourage viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty surrounding us, even in the most minor and often overlooked details. My goal was to create a visual experience that would resonate with viewers and inspire them to see the world in a new light.
At this pivotal point in my artistic journey, I embarked on a path of personal growth and exploration. As I venture forward, I dedicate myself to self-development, fearlessly pushing the boundaries of my artistic expression.
In this ongoing process, I am uncovering my unique artistic voice, refining my style, and forging an authentic path that reflects my heritage, experiences, and previous career as a designer.
I continue to strive to choose materials that resonate with my artistic essence and heritage as they become the tangible embodiment of my creative evolution.
